I am working on a series of DIY Invitation Project Tutorials and before I start those tomorrow, I thought I would post a quick tip on getting the most out of 12 x 12 cardstock for 5×7 invitations.

Step 1.

Cut the 12 x 12 paper into 2 pieces – 12 x 7 and 12 x 5

Step 2.

Cut the 12 x 7 piece into 3 pieces: 5 x 7, 5 x 7, and 2 x 7

Step 3.

Cut the  5 x 12 piece into 2 peices: 5 x 7 and 5 x 5

Step 4.

Use the two leftover pieces. You can use them to make escort cards, table numbers, place cards, RSVP cards, a small insert with your website details, etc.
