Take a look at this AMAZING collection of Winter Wedding photos by Mike of Digital Arts Photography. Summer is by far the most popular time of year for weddings, but winter can lend itself to some absolutely gorgeous, and unforgettable weddings as well. Winter weddings can also be a wise choice for the budget bride. With less brides competing for venues and vendors, you may find that some vendors will charge less then they do in summer – at that the best deals, which are often booked way in advance in the summer, will be easier to get in the winter months. One common concern for brides who choose to have a winter wedding is warmth. most of todays most popular gowns are not exactly warm – and who wants to wear the most beautiful gown they will ever own with a parka? Wedding capes, shawls, jackets and stoles are all great options for warmth, though they can also be expensive. Here are a few affordable options that we found:
Faux Fur Wraps with Bows are a great, light option. This particular one is listed at $22.50, and there are a number of versions on eBay ranging from $15-$50 in price. Of course, these won’t be as warm as a jacket, but they will give you a little added protection from the cold, especially if your gown is a strapless one.

Another great option is a Faux Fur Short Capes like this one. They can range in size from shoulder coverage, to hip length, and can vary in price as well. This particular one was listed at $12.99, and longer versions can be anywhere from $25-$100 depending on what you are looking for.

This is my favorite look – Faux Fur Capes – but they are also the most expensive option. I did see a few on eBay around the $50-$75 range, the one I liked best (shown above) sells for $199. Of course, if you are planning outdoor photos or even an outdoor ceremony – you want a full cape for the warm.
