DIY Gerbera Daisy Invitations

kids-065.jpg

Today we printed out the first half of Joanne’s wedding invitations. The front of the card has a small square with a gerbera daisy in the bottom corner. The guests names are printed next to the square.

Inside, I made a pale orange background with orange gerbera daisies in the bottom corner and a darker orange outline.

We bought photo-quality cardstock paper – 50 sheets for $15! We will only need about 20 sheets. They are printed two per page, cut and folded in half. We are also making matching tags for the wedding favors that will be printed on some of the extra pages. I am also going to use the same design to decorate her guest book (watch for pictures in the near future:))

I love your invitations. Gerbera daisies are my favorite. I’m getting married next August and might have to use your idea(and make it mine of course) Thanks!!

I love your invitations, but am wondering where you came upon that graphic and how you were able to design the invites. Did you use an imaging program?

It was a photograph, and I used my image editing program to remove the white background so I just had the flower to work with. The corner of the invitation is three of the same image stacked together.

Oh – I use JASC Paintshop Pro but you could so it in Photoshop or any other editing program.

As a professional photographer I would suggest that people try not to save money on the photography (as most people regret this for many many years after). However, I do think that you can save alot of money on things like invitations and place cards by making them yourself. As my partner and I are getting married this year we chose to make a donation to Cancer Research on behalf of our guests instead of Favors and we made cards to this effect for the tables.
