Location Guide for California

Posted by Chrys on August 14th, 2006

Can’t decide where to host your event? If you live in California, I suggest getting the book “Here Comes The Guide” which has an endless number of locations to research. The book also includes some of those important questions on pricing, deposit requirements and number of guests the location will hold. I received this book when planning my wedding and it was a huge help in deciding which locations I wanted to visit. They have a northern & southern California edition available, and they are always keeping it up-to-date. They also have a website that also has a good amount of information available.

Reception hall and other things

Posted by Chrys on June 29th, 2006

One of the biggest hurdles has been jumped. Chris and I have made the decision on where we are going to have our reception. We are going on Friday after we get out of work to work on all the details and put the deposit down. I am so excited, it sure does make this all feel real.

In the process of looking for a place to have tour reception, we sure did come across some places you wonder “what they are thinking?” We looked at one place that we could have also gotten married on their patio over looking a lake. Sounds nice right? Well the patio was about 5 feet wide….I am not sure how they would have arranged the seats for the guests and the dance floor was really small.

We have also set a budget that I think we will be able to stick too. That was a hard process to go through. Since Chris and I are paying for the entire wedding ourselves we needed to put us on a strict budget so we can save enough money. That is going to be the hardest thing that we do… We are so used to living one way and now we need to completly change how we live.

Well I am off to research more things… I will write again soon.

Hugs,
Kirsten

COTW: Pink & Brown Decorating Ideas

Posted by Chrys on June 26th, 2006

Here are a few of my favorite pics foudn while searching for Pink & Brown Wedding Ideas:) The first one shoes a pink & brown theme using the natural colors of the table as the brown tones. This is something to think about when picking colors and when picking a location. A slightly more expensive location that blends in to your color scheme will take much less decorating and may be cheaper in the long run. Likewise, if you can create a color pallete that uses the colors that are already present - this can save you money as well.
