Justin Guarini, best remembered as the runner up to Kelly Clarkson in the first season of American Idol, wed Reina Capodici this September. The couple have known each other since high school were Reina’s mother was Justin’s teacher.  The couple reconnected in 2007 and had originally planned a wedding for next summer but made the decision earlier this year that they didn’t want to wait any longer.

2007 was definitely an interesting year for celebrity weddings but I suppose that’s true most years. So – here are our picks from 2007.

Most Overplayed Wedding of 2007

This was an easy pick – without a doubt the most overplayed wedding this year was the summer wedding of Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. The Paris wedding received a ton of media attention and was quickly dubbed the “wedding of the year” but following the wedding, many bloggers felt their expectations had not been meet. The media attention both before and after the wedding seemed to kill some of the romance of the occasion when it was all send and done. It was a beautiful wedding, but it would have been much sweeter without all the “noise.”

Most Underplayed Wedding of 2007

While Eva choose a lavish ceremony, her Desperate Housewives co-star, Rick Chavira did the exact opposite. In what we believe is the most underplayed wedding of the year, Rick married Marcea Dietzel at home, wearing their pajamas. After the ceremony, the couple celebrated by attending their sons soccer game.

Most Confusing Wedding of 2007

That would be Usher, hands down. Are they? Aren’t they? Canceled. Re-scheduled. Is it mom’s fault? Is it pregnancy complications? Of wait, they did it already? This one really took us for a loop but in the end, Usher and Tameka were married in a small private ceremony followed by a wedding with friends and family later on. We’re just glad it’s finally done:)

Most Ridiculous Wedding of 2007

One guess…. yep – Pamela Anderson’s quickie Las Vegas wedding to Rick Salomon is definitely the most ridiculous wedding of the year. First, you take two stars both known for their parts in celebrity porn movies, who meet when Pam “paid off a poker debt with sexual favors” and throw in a 2 hour wedding between magic shows, a denim wedding gown and a fake plastic cake. Hey – two months later and it’s over. Is anyone really surprised?

Sweetest Weddings of 2007

In my opinion, this award goes to all the brides out there who kept it real. Many celebrity couples choose to keep their special day private and we applaud you for it. Our personal favorite was Rebecca Romijn’s private country wedding when she wed Jerry O’Connell.

Just over a year ago, Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers) and Jennifer Esposito (Crash) made headlines when they were seen kissing at a Golden Globes party. The couple, who refused to reveal if they were an item has now made it official. They tied the knot is a private ceremony just before Christmas.

Actor Alan Cummings (X-Men 2) also tied the knot this holiday season, marrying his partner Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony in London, England.

Of course, as always, the holidays brought with it a burst of holiday proposals with a numbe  of celebrity couples popping the question including:

-  Garth Fischer (Extreme Makeover Surgeon) and Jessica Canseco (Playboy Model)

- Chris Cattan (SNL) and Sunshine Tutt (model)

- Benji Madden (Good Charlotte) and Sophie Monk (actress)

People reports that Actress Bianca Kajlich (Rules of Engagement) and Landon Donovan (US World Cup Soccor Player 2002/2003) tied the note in a romantic New Years Eve ceremony at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, California. The bride wore Monique Lhuillier.

It seems to have been a month for weddings with a number of stars tying the knot recently:

November 28th – Kimberly Roads (Little Big Town) married Stephan Schlapman in a private Caribbean Island wedding.

December 19th – Lara Flynn Boyle tied the knot with Donald Ray Thomas.

December 29th – Wearing a stunning Vera Wang, Nikki Taylor wed NASCAR driver Burney Lamar.

December 29th – Actress Nikki Cox (Las Vegas) and comedian Jay Mohr were married in Los Angeles.

Jay McGraw, eldest some of Dr. Phil and Robyn McGraw, was married in August to Erica Dahm. The wedding, coordinated by Edgardo Zamora of Revelry Event Design, took place in the McGraw family home. Visit the Weddings section of the Celebrity News blog for more details.

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock at the first of 4 wedding celebrations planned. This event took place on a yacht in Saint-Topez, France on July 30th but according to local authorites, it was not a legal marriage. The couple legally tied the knot in Detriot shortly after.

Game Show Host, Chuck Wooley ties the knot again. This is the 65 year old’s 4th wedding. His bride, Kim Barnes, hails from Michigan. The pair were married on July 17th.

Avril Lavigne, 21 and married her sweet heart, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in a private ceremony on July 15th. No celebrities were invited to this romantic, traditional family celebration!

Television personality Jillian Barberie married actor Grant Reynolds this past weekend in an intimate ceremony in her backyard.  Jillian is best known as a cohost on morning talk show Good Day LA, cohost of Fox’s NFL pregames, and host of EXtreme Dating. (thanks to Wedding Bee for this tip)

Survivor: Palau and Guatemala star Stephenie LaGrossa wed high school history teacher Michael Ward, on July 7. The couple, how meet 8 years ago while she was vacationing – he was a life guard. The couple had a beach themed wedding attended by all 8 survivor contestants.

As we shared earlier, Pamela Anderson announced plans earlier this summer to wed her sweetheart, Kid Rock. The star has now revealed that the couple is planning not one, but four weddings around the world in the space of a week!

The first ceremony, which will take place this weekend, is being held on a yacht in the French Riviera. This will be followed by a West Coast Party in Malibu, a celebration in Detriot and then another in Nashville.

The 39-year old Canadian is unconcerned with the hecticness of it all, stating “I have two words for you: champagne.” And while the major details have been worked out, just days before the wedding, Pamela admitted she has not even thought about the dress yet! Not really all that surprising – for her first wedding she wore a bikini and didn’t even bother with the dress. Most of the bride’s out there are probably having a heart attack just thinking about it!!
