The Wedding Book

Most of us can’t afford to hire a wedding planner like Mindy Weiss – her services were behind some of hollywoods gorgeous weddings including Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey, Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale and Heidi Klum and Seal. Fortunately for us, Mindy Weiss has decided to publish her own wedding planning book, called The Wedding Book: The Big Book for your Big Day!
The book includes planning ideas, tips, worksheets, terms to know, and plenty more. SO – you can have a “mindy weiss” wedding without the “mindy weiss” price tag. This great book is available at bookstores, or online through Amazon.com for about $14!. There are also book tour dates coming up, check out the schedule here.

What It’s All About

It so easy, in the midst of all this planning, to get really distracted with the “wedding” and forgot to plan for the “marriage.” Unfortunately – the reality is that many couples enter marriage with very little planning and many marriages end within a matter of years. Of course, that’s not always the case.
Clarence Vail and his wife, Mayme – were married in 1925. Today, they celebrate 83 years of marriage and have earned a place in the Guniness Book of World Records! The couple were 16 and 18 when they were married. Now, at 101 and 99, they have 6 children, 39 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren.
When asked why their marriage has lasted so long, Mayme’s answer was simple:
“You take your vows, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,” Mayme said. “I guess you just stick to it, come what may.”

Win A Red Carpet Wedding!

The couple will actually wed on the red carpet at the premiere of the movie!
The grand prize includes:

I was unbelievable excited when I discovered this company! Traditional ring engravers will do one or two lines, with a limited amount of characters. Jerry Beirn of Wedding Vow Rings has taken engraving to a whole new level, perfecting an engraving method that allows him to engrave entire wedding vows inside your man’s (or your) wedding ring!! You could also have a peom, song lyrics, verse or other special moment engraved!
They have more then 200 different ring styles you can pick from, both traditional and comtemporary including white gold, yellow gold, titanium, platinum and sterling silver. If you already have a band you love, they can engrave your existing band as well!

Engraving Your Wedding Bands? New Technology Creates Romantic Possibilities.
What is more romantic than looking inside of your wedding band and seeing a personalized engraving with special meaning for the you and your spouse? There are a few ways to accomplish this task that your jeweler will recommend and now some new processes available that increase the limits of the message that can be created.
Let us review the traditional methods most currently being used in the marketplace – First, there is hand engraving done by an artisan engraver using a hand tool called a graver. It is not a perfect process and the results will depend on the quality and skill of the craftsman doing the work. Also commonly used is machine engraving which is much more precise but usually limited to one row of words using up to 20 characters.
Now, a specialty process adapted to a not so new technology, called laser engraving, has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for wedding couples who are thinking of engraving their rings. Wedding bands are now being created with entire messages that are clearly readable and up to 225 character long. This allows the ability to write whole passages, even entire wedding vows, on the inside of the wedding bands. Currently , bridal couples are engraving civil vows, religious vows, love poetry, even Shakesperean sonnets. The Knot Real Weddings Contest

Did you get married in 2007? Do you think your wedding is magazine-worthy? Starting February 14, The Knot is launching their first ever Real Wedding Awards. Couples and wedding professionals will be able to submit photos of their 2007 weddings and the winning weddings will be featured in a future issue and on a Knot TV episode!
