I stumbled onto a gorgeous little boutique today - Unique Vintage. They have a fabulous selection of vintage and vintage inspired clothing including some gorgeous, bridal worthy gowns. The best part is that most of their gowns are very affordable (I’m talking $99, $200, $300 etc). Take a look at a few from their current selection:
I absolutely love Oriental Trading! When I need craft ideas or party supplies for my kids it’s a bargain hunter’s dream and quite often I find inspiration for weddings as well. This morning, I was looking through the Christmas Decorating catalogue and came across a fabulous favor idea for a budget winter or Christmas wedding! Oriental Trading offers a range of Photo Ornaments that you add your own picture to. They have snowflakes, snowman, gingerbread men, angels and even crocheted hearts.
You can add a copy of your engagement photo to each and use them as favors! They could also double as napkin rings: just add a length of ribbon and tie around the napkin. Or, add tags with your guests names on them and they double as escort or place cards as well! The best part - all of the ones shown below cost between 50 cents and $1.25 each!
When a firefighter has a wedding, you know it is a special occasion for everyone involved! Yet did you also know that some couples who are not actually working within the confines of the firefighter job description still wish to have a firefighter themed wedding? Generally speaking, such special theme weddings are organized by experienced wedding planners as they require a good deal of know how and also professional connections to ensure that the entire celebration is done tastefully and goes off without a hitch.
As this event requires in addition to the typical decorations and other accoutrements a plethora of props and also authentic paraphernalia, it is vital that the wedding planner first and foremost consult with the happy couple with respect to any budget issues. Although it does not have to be a frightfully expensive occasion, any kind of theme wedding usually costs a bit more than your average marriage celebration.
Once the budget details are nailed down, it is time to consider the breadth and depth of the affair. How detailed does the couple want to take the theme? Which parameters will be observed? Some may be content with having decorations at their reception which are reminiscent of the theme, while others want to see the colors through from start to finish. Still others will opt to have their transportation to the wedding locale and perhaps also airport be directly related to their chosen theme. In this case, a wedding planner must know if the couple wishes to be whisked away to the chapel by an authentic fire truck and then find one that will be available for rent on that particular day.
A skilled wedding planner will know roughly how much money to allocate for each of the extras a client couple desires. For a professional, it is unacceptable to return to the couple halfway in the middle of the preparation and request a budget extension due to miscalculations. Even a some agreements between wedding planner and couple may contain a monetary increase clause, it is by and large frowned upon in the industry to make use of this clause unless it is a never before done kind of ceremony and a bona fide estimate could not be as detailed and exact as one might have hoped.
For clients with a restricted budget, it is wise to discuss alternatives to their theme which will still satisfy them but also go easy on the budget. Thus, if renting a fire truck is too expensive, a bright red limousine might be more affordable. In the same vein, if the trampoline your clients requested to permit the bride and groom to make a jump off a roof together is not available, perhaps a different mode of signifying their new life together can be found that still works within the symbolism of the firefighter theme.
The collaborator Jack Blacksmith is especially interested in themes relating to engagement verses. You can come across his writings on marriage proposal sayings at other sources for marriage proposal sayings information.
Diamonds have been a symbol of engagement and marriage for many decades already. Diamonds are also glamorous, luxurious and elegant. So it should come as no surprise that a diamond theme makes for a very luxurious, elegant wedding theme.
Of course, using real diamonds in your decor would take a budget most of us can only dream of - but that doesn’t mean you can’t have the look on a decent budget.
Instead of real diamonds, look for rhinestones, crystals, glass, etc.
Choose plenty of white and silver accents to really bring out the sparkle as well.
Crystal chandeliers are another great way to pump up the sparkle. If your venue doesn’t have them, many decor rental places now offer them as a rental option as well.
Mirrors are another great way to up the sparkle as they will reflect both your sparkling “diamonds” and the light around the room.
Silver and white glitter are also great, affordable ways to add sparkle to your decor. They can be used on your centerpieces, bouquets, etc.
Take a look at these diamond inspirations I found online this week.

Butterfly themed weddings are obviously not a new trend, but they continue to be a staple in wedding planning themes each year. Butterflies are soft, feminine and generally gorgeous - so it makes sense that brides would see them as a wedding feature. What I love about butterfly weddings is the large variety of colors and seasons it can fit into. Fall? orange and black monarchs make a stunning wedding them. Winter? Take advantage of the glimmer and glitz of winter with silver butterflies. Spring? Pastels of course.
My favorite is the green handmade butterflies shown in the gallery below - Blush made an absolutely gorgeous style board that featured that particular butterfly earlier this year, check it out!
Here are a few of my current favorite butterfly wedding things. Sources are listed below:)
If you’re planning your wedding September-November why not consider an Autumn, Fall or Harvest theme?
The colors of Autumn lend themselves beautifully to a warm and welcoming day. There are so many rich shades that can be paired for a beautiful color scheme. Reds, Oranges, Yellows, Browns, Coppers, Creams and Tans would all be stunning color combinations.
I found an invitation in burgundy and orange that I fell in love with and decided to create an inspiration board around it.
I hope it sparks creativity as you plan your Autumn Themed Wedding.

For the ceremony site, white folding chairs are covered with sheer blue chiffon; the same material in coordinating colors is gathered to form a “striped” canopy.
Sea glass also figures prominently here: It’s scattered along the white organza runner, placed at the bottom of orchid-filled vases at both ends of the aisle, and affixed to the glass hurricane lamps hung beside the path.
