Awesome Camo Wedding Finds on eBay
Posted by Crystal in Camouflage Wedding
We still get a lot of emails from brides looking for ideas for camo themed weddings that are unique and elegant. It’s a pretty hot topic because camo themed weddings are generally thought of as tacky and the truth is – they often are. A few months ago, we shared a really great article on how to incorporate the camo print into your wedding while still maintaining elegance and romance. We also have an entire Camo Themed Wedding section full of ideas and unique finds for our readers.
Today I thought I would add a few new ideas from one of my favorite sources for unique, hard to find wedding items: eBay. Take a look at a few of my favorites.

First off – silk flower petals in camo colors! I love this! You get 1000 petals for $30 – what a great, budget friendly way to play up the colors in the camo print. These could be used in your centerpieces, to decorate your aisle, etc. I also LOVE the adorable mossy oak print headband for your little flower girl! This one I didn’t find on eBay though – its available from A Touch Of Camo for $30!

Another cute accessory – this rhinestone chocker made with a camo print ribbon is a great way to add a touch of camo print to your bridal outfit – or your wedding party – or both! $24 – not bad! Another lovely idea – camo print wrapped mints
for your candy buffet or to fill your favor boxes! You get 50 mints for $5!
How to Be Unique – Vintage Wedding Invitations
Posted by Crystal in Invitations, Vintage Weddings
When you arrange your special day you know it’s probably going to be the biggest and most important day of your whole life, and there are lots and lots of things to think about that you would probably never have given a second thought to under normal circumstances. For many people, the fuss is all about themselves and the feeling they have of being great and special. One way of achieving this is to ensure everything is organized properly and in order for you to feel your best the way in which this is done is by giving the right impression the first time around. First impressions go a long way when it comes to weddings as you, as well as other people, will be comparing the presentation skills of every aspect in relation to the upcoming event. Choosing the best invitations is often the first port of call for most wedding shoppers. Obviously you will have a venue in mind first otherwise you would have nothing to print on the invites.
Next, you would have to choose which wedding invitations you think will give your guests an image of opulence, tradition or even expectation for the coming day. Currently, the most popular choice amongst tasteful wedding designers is the letterpress stationary that can pair age old class with sleek design to create an aura of weighty longevity. After all, your wedding is supposed to be ‘until death us do part’ so you should have wedding invitations that reflect the length of time that you will be together. They also imply that the wedding is timeless and by using a fifteenth century letterpress, or something similar, means you are stating your intentions in the best possible way.
Another thing is that you should want something that has your unique touch on it and not just some “off the shelf” product that could well end up in someone else’s wedding. What you order should be bespoke and suit only you and your partner; something that requires a little input should be booked well in advance and discussed thoroughly with your wedding designer or close family member/friend.
The chances are that long after the wedding cake has been polished off, you are likely to have your wedding stationary laying around – or even stored away with your wedding photographs. As well as this, you will have the invitations sent out and people will make their mind up in an instant whether or not you have been “cutting corners”, so to speak, or whether you have decided to go for it and pull out all the stops. These days everyone wants the vintage themed invitations that are very popular, and they will often shop around a little before making their mind up; in hindsight they will find it very difficult to beat the kind of quality printing that is involved in a Letterpress printing system.
Emma Jo sells unique, vintage inspired wedding invitations to make your wedding stand out.

Top Tips for a Budget Las Vegas Wedding
Posted by Crystal in Las Vegas Weddings, Location
With more than 120,000 weddings and wedding renewals happening in Las Vegas each year, this city has definitely earned the title ‘Wedding Capital of the World.’ Tourists from around the globe fly in to join countless American couples in creating their own unique wedding experience in this playful town. Because Las Vegas has welcomed the destination wedding industry, it has also become expert at offering important services and products for every taste and budget.

An expensive marriage ceremony and reception can max out your credit cards and take months, if not years, to pay off. Since financial concerns are the top of the list in couple disputes, why not avoid the potential for later marital stress by deliberately choosing an affordable alternative in Las Vegas? In this post, Nadine Hallak of leading flights website Cheapflights.co.uk, explores 11 top tips to help you keep the price down without feeling cheap or lessening the romantic experience.
• By checking into various wedding package deals, you can often find one that combines airfare and hotel accommodations for a savings of 25%–30% off the total price. If you’re family are planning to travel with you, be sure to browse the available deals on flights to Las Vegas, as 400 airlines fly into this famous metropolis from over 1,700 departure destinations around the world.
• Ask if your chosen hotel also has wedding packages available that can be included in the discount. By agreeing to use the hotel photographer and florist, you can often save on other expenses as well as receiving chapel and reception discounts

• Try to book off-season for even further reduced prices. Unsurprisingly, prices go up across the board during Valentine’s, New Year, 3-day holiday weekends, and times when special events or conventions are in town. However, Monday through Thursday dates are more available and cheaper.
• The very act of booking online can also save you money with discount specials.
• Don’t be afraid to shop around and to haggle for the best deals. It’s OK to share what a competitor is offering if that will help you get a better package at the place you really like.

• Request discounted group rates for all of your wedding guests to book into the same hotel.
• Choose an already beautifully decorated chapel to save on extra cost and have more to spend on a great reception.
• Consider renting your gown and tux. There are many rental shops in the city, and you will be able to wear that dream gown without carting it around the world or paying an exorbitant purchase fee for a one time use.
• It is perfectly acceptable to sign up for hotel and dining bargains and discount coupons before you make your trip. There are also excellent and very affordable buffets in the city that can cater to the tastes of all ages and preferences.

• Little expenses can quickly add up. For example, avoid valeting your car; park it yourself and walk. Avoid multiple room service requests. Buy your own soft drinks and bottled water for your personal use. If you order it on site, you’ll pay considerably more; ask for ice water and order your wine by the bottle, not the glass
• Enjoy your honeymoon in the same location and the breathtaking view of this area while saving money at the same time!

Christmas Wedding Goodies
Posted by Crystal in Christmas Weddings
December is here:) My Christmas tree is up and I am slowly pulling out the decorations! I love Christmas – it is a beautiful time of year and a beautiful time for a wedding as well. Today I was surfing eBay for some fun, affordable Christmas wedding ideas and found a few that I want to share – check these out!

Christmas is a great time to incorporate classic Christmas decorations into your decor for a gorgeous look that is both unique and seasonal. I really love these two options. The first is my favorite – snowflake Christmas ornament placecard holders – they are both elegant and affordable ($52 for a set of 48). These would work well for any winter wedding. The second find is pretty fantastic as well – they are Christmas ornament shaped vases
and they are bigger then they seem – about 5.5 x 5 inches. They would make really nice vases for Christmas wedding table centerpieces.

Poinsettias are another beautiful part of Christmas that can be incorporated into a Christmas wedding. I love this silk flower set that I discovered on ebay – I am completely in love with the Poinsettia bridal bouquet – a lovely mix of deep reds, whites and golds – and it comes with a maid of honor bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, a toss bouquet, a grooms boutinniere, 9 boutinniere’s and 4 corsages – all 21 pieces for under $140. That’s insane – you’d pay more for that just for the bridal bouquet in most flower shops.

And last but very much not least – I found a great eBay store with a fantastic collection of Christmas wedding cake toppers – including the three shown here. Wedding Cake Toppers & Decor has some unique and adorable wedding cake toppers including some absolutely adorable Christmas themed toppers for fairly decent prices.
A Very Merry Etsy Christmas Wedding
Posted by Crystal in Christmas Weddings
Spreading The Joy!

I love this Save The Date design from Ginger P Designs – it is obviously a great choice if you’re getting married at Christmas time, but it would also make a great save the date if you are planning a 2011 wedding and are going to send your Save The Dates close to Christmas time because these can double as both your STD and Christmas card, saving you a little money!
Merry Hair Pieces!

The Holly & Berry hair pins from The HoneyComb are a great way to add a little Christmas to your wedding day hair style and they are small enough to also be used for your attendants or flower girl. I also really like the Wintry Floral hair comb from The Red Magnolia – it’s a great statement piece, very elegant.
Flowers & Pinecones!

Pinecones add a great winter touch to this red, white and gold rose bouquet from Amore Bridal. The Holly & Pinecone boutonniere from Which Goose is another great combination and it makes a fantastic, unique choice for brides looking for a flower free alternative for their Christmas wedding.
The Kids Are All Decked Out!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this Candy Cane Princess tutu from Tiara’s & Tutus – it would be fantastic for an adorable little Christmas flower girl! For a more traditional Christmas feel, I really like this little candle lantern from April Hiler Designs. It makes a great alternative to a flower girl basket and could be used instead of bridesmaids bouquets as well.
And a little something for the table!

These Birch Heart Vases from Go Rustic are just adorable!! They could be used for a lot of different wedding things – fall weddings, camo weddings, vintage weddings, garden weddings, Christmas weddings, etc – just by changing the bouquet up.
Christmas Winter Wedding Favor Ideas Under $1
Posted by Crystal in Christmas Weddings

These are perfect for a Christmas wedding candy buffet! The first is adorable mini glass candy jars with personalized labels that guests can use to fill with candy at the buffet – of you can fill for a adorable favor – as little as $1.10 from Beau-coup. The second is chocolate dipped fortune cookies with an adorable snowflake pattern which are available for 99 cents from Beau-coup.

Christmas ornaments make great – reusable wedding favors. I particularly like these to options because they do double duty – making them a budget bride’s best friend. The first is a selection ceramic snowman ornaments that are surprisingly affordable at about $1 each from Beau-coup – add a tag with your guests names on it and it’s also a placecard – or pull a napkin through the string for a lovely napkin holder. The second option from our store is a lovely set of Christmas themed placecard holders that are available at $2 for a set of 3 and obviously – they can be both a placecard and a favor for your guests.

I love these two classy options for a Christmas wedding. The red damask print favor boxes which sell for $1.35 each are a wonderful holiday twist on the popular damask pattern and can be filled with the favor of your choice. The holiday tea sachets are $20 for 20 from Beau-coup and the elegant print packaging gives them a very classy look and feel perfect for a formal Christmas wedding.

And two more that just really really deserve a mention
The first is a beautiful angel bookmark, especially fitting for a religious Christmas wedding or an all white winter wedding theme and they are $1.41 each. The second is a set of Christmas tree candles that come packaged in clear boxes to give as favors but they could also be used as part of your decor for a romantic candle light wedding – $8 for 6.
Wedding Decor Tips for Your Backyard Garden Wedding
Posted by Crystal in Garden Wedding
An outdoor wedding in your own garden or yard can be a beautifully intimate way to begin a marriage. Outdoor weddings can also be far less expensive than traditional indoor weddings. If you allow yourself plenty of time, you could even create wonderful flower beds and other landscaping features that will serve as a colourful backdrop to the wedding ceremony. Using flowers and special landscaping for wedding decorations is environmentally friendly and also gives you a sentimental reminder of your wedding day every time you look at your own garden.
Save Money and Keep it More Personal
Since most gardens are not incredibly large, the wedding party and wedding guests at a garden wedding are usually situated rather closely. This makes everyone feel like he or she is more a part of the wedding. Practical reasons for choosing an outdoor wedding in your own garden or yard are very persuasive as well. You will not have to spend money to rent the wedding location or the reception hall. You will also have the freedom to decorate your wedding any way you like because you will not have to follow the rules of the church or hall that you would have rented.
Natural Decorations Using Organic Materials
The best way to decorate for an outdoor wedding is through the use of appropriately coloured flowers. You can plant certain flowers in the spring so that they will be in full bloom by the time of your wedding. Coordinate the flower colours with your wedding party’s colours. A white wedding would go nicely with yellow, pink, or white flowers for decorations. If you prefer something more dramatic, you could use bright red flowers to accent the seats and podium. Running vines add a nice touch of greenery to the decorations.
Keep it Simple and Beautiful
The key to having a successful outdoor wedding is to keep the decorations simple and organic. Do not get too elaborate or your decorations will steal the spotlight from the couple getting married. Use flowers and vines as accents for the aisle and chairs. It can be nice to have a couple of simple arrangements behind the platform where the ceremony is performed. Many people like to use a simple white arch over the couple, with flowers spilling over the edges of the arch. It is a nice touch if the flowers used for decorations are also included in the bride’s bouquet.
Easy Transition from Service to Reception
Using your own garden or lawn for the wedding can make transitioning from the ceremony to the reception much simpler. If you have a small garden shed, you can store all of the food for the reception in the shed for easy access once it is time to set up the reception. Tables and extra chairs can also be stored handily in a garden shed until the ceremony is over. If the decorations are kept simple, they will be able to be used for the ceremony and the reception to maintain the wedding’s overall theme.

The Pros and Cons of a Christmas Wedding
Posted by Crystal in Christmas Weddings
Deciding when to have your wedding can be the biggest decision for a newly engaged couple to make. Choosing a specific time of year that is appealing to you can be an easy way to narrow down your options. Many couples dream of having a white wedding during the Christmas season filled with snow and cheer. December is certainly a special time of year and many couples want to memorialize their love amidst the holiday celebrations. Having a Christmas wedding can be an unforgettable experience, yet it is important to consider the good and the bad when planning the most important day of your life.
While having a winter wedding can present some challenges, there are also many benefits to incorporating this season into your wedding plans. Christmas weddings are often unique, filled with holiday music and decorations. The weather is romantic and makes a lasting impression. A bride may enjoy the various themes and colors available during the winter months that are not offered during spring and summer.
An important benefit of having a Christmas wedding is cost. Because winter is considered an “off month” for the bridal industry, a couple can save hundreds of dollars when booking a venue, a band, or a caterer. A Christmas wedding is also cost effective because many locations are already decorated for the holidays. This would be an easy way to incorporate the holiday spirit into your special day. Many families have also already made plans to spend Christmas together. By planning a wedding during your family’s visit, more money will be saved on airfare and lodgings.
Another great part about having a winter wedding is venue availability. It is more likely you will be able to book that special church, or restaurant since most people don’t get married during Christmas. This can be the deciding factor in when a bride chooses to get married, making a Christmas wedding more appealing.
A winter wedding is also a way for a couple to show their love for a certain time of year and to celebrate with they’re closest family and friends. Christmas weddings are always memorable and make a lasting impression.
While a Christmas wedding has its benefits, there are also some disadvantages every couple must consider before planning the big day. The weather can be as unpredictable as a bride’s mood during December, which can make it difficult to make plans. If you live in California, you may have nothing to worry about, but for those who live in a Northern climate, the weather can present a real problem for guests. Snow, or rain can prevent guests from arriving on time, which could delay the wedding, or even flights.
On the other hand, the weather may be too mild. A bride may be envisioning a snowy, white wedding with a horse drawn carriage, yet no snow. Unpredictable weather could potentially ruin a couples’ idea of a Christmas wedding. It’s also important to consider that travel arrangements during the holidays are very expensive and some guests may not be able to afford it.
Having a Christmas wedding can be a beautiful way of saying “I do.” Many of these seasons disadvantages can be avoided with proper planning and scheduling ahead of time. When done right, this can be the perfect time of year for a couple to tie the knot.

4 Ways to Keep Children Entertained at a Christmas Wedding
Posted by Crystal in Christmas Weddings
A wedding day for a bride is one of the biggest days of her life. They’ve been dreaming of this day since they were little, have it all planned, and just hope that it goes smoothly and doesn’t rain! If you know someone that is having a Christmas wedding, you probably know all the stress that comes along with it!
One thing brides and family members often think about is the children. Although children are cute and wonderful to have around, they don’t quite know when it’s ok to scream, cry, and behave. So, if you’re looking for ways to keep children entertained, we’ve got you covered! Listed below are some ideas you can consider!
- Treasure hunt: If the bride is getting married in a church, a treasure hunt is a great way to keep the little ones entertained. Most churches are rather large, so it calls for a great place to hunt for things! Set up some clues, create a map of the church, and set up little prizes and candy at the end to keep the going!
- Color: What kids don’t love to color? This is a simple, yet affordable way to keep the kids entertained for an hour or two. Bring out the Christmas coloring books and some markers, and send them on their way. (You can find free coloring pages online as well like these ones at The Kidz Page)
- Babysitter: It wouldn’t hurt to get a babysitter if the children are younger. Have someone come for a few hours so everyone can help set up last minute, get into their places and so you all can have a worry free and cry free ceremony.
- Crafts: Children love crafts! Check out some cool Christmas crafts online that are easy to make. Then, get some of the supplies at your local craft store, and let them use their imaginations!
As you already know, weddings are some of the most stressful events out there. Although they are beautiful, almost every family, and bride worries something won’t go as planned. So, to make it easier on yourself and on the bride and groom, make sure the little ones are taken care of ahead of time!
