Posted by Chrys in Christmas Weddings, Decorations, Valentine's Wedding, Wedding Favors on February 18th, 2008
The week after valentine’s day is a great time to get your hands on romance/heart themed items at huge sales! Over the next few days, I will be searching for and sharing items I find on sale that would be perfect for a wedding! For now- check out these finds from Terry’s Village (click on the pictures to find them)
This wirework heart is 13 x 11 1/2″ and absolutely gorgeous! Just tie a ribbon to it, and hang it on the doorway into the chapel/reception area. Or, hang 3 at varying heights behind the head table. These are on sale for $6.75 each, so you can easily add a few to your decor without spending a fortune!
These heart shaped cookie magnet set would make a lovely wedding favor, and at $3.97 for 6 – that works out to about 65 cents per guest!! VERY affordable, and perfect for a pink or red wedding theme.
Here is one find that gives you an entire centerpiece in one, and the entire thing is $8.97! All you have to add is a candle! This centerpiece works for a red wedding any time of year, but if you are planning ahead for a Christmas 2008 wedding, the red berries will fit right in as well!
And one more worth mentioning, these adorable little gift bags! Just add some chocolates or other treats, and you have a wonderful favor. These are on sale in sets of 3 for $4.97.

Some Great Oriental Trading Finds!
Posted by Chrys in Decorations, Flower Wedding Themes, Wedding Favors on February 15th, 2008
I was just surfing though the Oriental Trading wedding section to see what they had on sale and two items caught my attention! The first was this Glass Cake With Dove Topper
which comes with a gorgeous gift box. It’s on sale for $2.95, and it could make a great wedding favor if your budget allows. Otherwise, it would make an adorable little keepsake for your wedding party, parents, grandparents, etc.

The other item was this White Hydrangea Wreath which is on sale for less then $6! It would make a gorgeous, affordable center piece. Just add a candle in your favorite color and VIOLA!! Centerpieces under $10! Want to make it a little fancier? Many wedding rental companies will have glass or silver raised cake trays you can use to lift it off the table for an extra wow factor, and then sprinkle silk petals underneath. Still very affordable.

Valentine’s Day with Martha Stewart
Posted by Chrys in DIY Weddings, Decorations, Flower Wedding Themes, Garden Wedding on February 14th, 2008
Hey guys, Happy Valentine’s Day! Martha Stewart Weddings Editor, Darcy Miller posted a whole selection of heart-shaped inspirations on her blog this morning and there are two that really caught my eye! The first was this heart shaped bouquet, which was on the cover of the first issue in 1995! Just goes to show that really good ideas don’t ever get old:)

The other one that caught my attention was this adorable centerpiece using simple white egg cups with ranunculus arranged in a heart shape. It’s a beautiful DIY centerpiece idea, affordable and very unique! I think the little egg cup idea would be adorable for escort cards as well! Set up a display of interlocking hearts, and place a small name tag in each. Very cute.

Paloma’s Nest
Posted by Chrys in Decorations on February 9th, 2008

These little customized clay bowls from Paloma’s Nest have been making a splash online recently, and it’s not hard to see why. While they are a little pricey for favors ($18/each) – they would be the perfect alternative to a ring bearer pillow – especially for a beach or nautical themed wedding, or a rustic wedding setting. There are also bird and heart shapes available, which would work beautifully to.

Affordable Door Decor
Posted by Chrys in DIY Weddings, Decorations on February 7th, 2008
This Martha Stewart Door Monogram was recently featured on Glamour This and I think it’s brilliant. It’s simple, easy to make and very affordable – but best of all, it’s very very chic and can be customized in so many ways!
You can buy the wood initials at local craft stores, or you can find a variety of sizes and fonts of wood letters on eBay for anywhere from $2-$10 per letter. You can dress them up with paint, rhinestones, a faux finish, etc and then attach a wide ribbon for hanging.
You could also use these behind the head table or hang one from the back of the bride and groom’s chairs. For a bride who wants something other then flowers – these could be carried by the flower girl and ring bearer in place of traditional baskets and pillows as well.
