COTW: Blue & Yellow Unique Bouquet Idea
Posted by Crystal in Decorations, Flowers

I love this bouquet idea! Pale yellow roses, white stephanotis, and clear “glass” blue bubbles. It is totally unique, elegant and just goregous! The matching centerpeice is wonderful as well! If you are on a budget, a smaller version of the centerpiece may be just as elegant but a little less expensive.

River Rock Beach Wedding Centerpiece
Posted by Crystal in Beach Weddings, Decorations, Destination Weddings, Wedding Themes

Here is another GREAT idea for a centerpiece! This River Rock collection comes in this 4.5 x 4.5 inch box that is perfect for a beach wedding. Simply remove the rocks and place a pillar candle in the box. Add some sand at the base to hold the candle steady, then add the river rocks. Use the remaining river rocks to decorate the table around the box.
The name itself is very neat – but if you don’t want guests to see it, wrap raffia or blue ribbon around the box, tying in front of the logo. Then, glue a small shell or starfish to the center of the bow.
The best part – each box with the rocks is only $7.99!!!!
Awesome Deal: favors or centerpieces

I was looking for a gift at one of my favorite sites when I came across this pot/candle holder. This 3 1/2 inch high ceramic pot is on sale right now for $1.99 – and would be perfect for a summer wedding!  There are a number of ideas I came up with that could use this pot:
Centerpiece & Favors for A Rectangular Table: Order one pot per guest and then place them down the center of the table. You can place candles, a small plant or a silk flower arrangement in each pot – or vary them for a unique display. At the end of the evening, let guests each take one home with them.
Favors: These pots would make lovely favors, with pottede plants, chocolates or a candle inside. Place one on the center of each place setting.
Centerpiece for a Round Table: For a round table, start with 3 pots per table, and a length of blue semi-sheer fabric. using little blocks orboxes, create three “levels” on the table and drape the fabric over the levels. Then, place one pot on each and sprinkle rose petals, confetti, strings of pearls, etc in among the fabric. You can place plants, flowers or candles in the pots. For a simpler look, place a round mirror in the center, place a single pot on top and put clear votive holders around the pot.Â
Here is another one that I found as well. This ceramic flower arranger could work beautifully with any color scheme and is on sale for $1.49!

DIY Lily Bouquet
Posted by Crystal in DIY Weddings, Decorations, Flowers

Here is a simple, but beautiful bouquet you could make yourself. This would work well for your bridesmaids, or for the bride for a garden, beach or informal wedding.
For each bouquet, you will need:
A Sprig of Yellow Liles
Some baby’s breath and ornimental grasses
A Wire Ribbon in the color of your choice
Arrange the the flowers and accents until you are happy with arrangements. Secure stems together with floral tape and finish with ribbon bow.
If you suck at tying bows, take the ribbon to a local florist – they will make bows for you for a couple bucks.
Total cost for a bouquet like this? About $10-$15 depending on where you get the supplies.
You could also make matching decor peices:
Alter arrangements: matching arrangements in glass vases on each side of the alter, tie the ribbon around the vase.
Centerpiece: a simple, glass vase with a single lily with tied with a ribbon.
Pew Bows – rent simple white pew bows and pin a small lily tied with a ribbon to the center of each pew bow.
Wedding Cake – Take a simple, white fondant covered cake. Wrap matching ribbon around the bottom of each layer and place lily heads at random around the cake.

COTW: PINK & BROWN at Michael’s
Posted by Crystal in DIY Weddings, Decorations, Flowers, Wedding Favors

Even Michael’s is getting in on the Pink & Brown craze with this stunning table setting idea! most of the items seen on the table are projects available online at Micheal’s – see them below with links. For the rest, here are our ideas:
Pink Table Cloth & Tableware – for a budget wedding – RENT RENT RENT! Pink table clothes and white china are available for rent in most areas for very reasonable prices. If you can not find the brown charger plates, then we recommend leanign them white and using brown napkins to add the brown color to each place setting. Personally, I think the napkin roll would look better in brown anyway.
Table Runner and Table Number – You can probably rent chocolate table runners. Then, use various widths and styles of ribbon to decorate each runner. Secure the ribbons with pins at each end and at various places through out were the table decor will hide them. For the table number, print your own on blank recipe cards.
Place Markers – If you have your heart set on the picture frame place markers – check out local dollar stores and thrift shops as often as you can, buying any frames that you find in the write color and shape until you have enough, or find out if you can rent these locally.

COTW: Pink & Brown Aisle Runners
Posted by Crystal in DIY Weddings, Decorations

I love aisle runners – and they come in a ton of colors! You can do bright pink, pale pink, chocolate brown. You can addes rose petals down the center, along the sides, of make the runner out of rose petals! Custom aisle runners can be a little pricy. One budget friendly option is to take a look on Ebay, or rental an aisle runner. You will find that most rented aisle runners are either white or ivory. To bring you color theme together, add accents of your own. Here are some ideas:
1. Take a ivory colored aisle runner and use small pins to attach a wide chocolate colored ribbon an inch or two from each side of the runner. Then, sprinkle silk roses petals in shades of pink along each side of the aisle.
2. Purchase bulk silk roses petals in both chocolate and pink shades and use those to decorate along the edge of a white aisle runner.
3. Create an illusion aisle runner by sprinkling pink and chocolate rose petals on either side of the aisle, so the middle of the aisle becomes a path.
4. If you have a wide aisle, decorate each side of the aisle with a tall glass vase, tied with a chocolate ribbon and holding pink gerberas. Not only do you have a memorable aisle “runner” but they can double as centerpieces at the reception. Some other side ideas: silver buckets with pink and brown flowers, chocolate colored candle lanterns with pink candles.
