DIY Thank You Cards

thankyou.jpg

I found these at a vendor party I attended earlier today. They are called "perfectly printables" from Patty Gale Designs which basically means you print them yourself. When I saw this one – I feel in love.

The design is $1.99 – and you can print it as often as you wish! Perfect for all those wedding thank you notes you will need to send out in the next few months. Just purchase some thick paper and envelopes – then print them out as needed!

They also have a blank design available, also $1.99. This one could be used for thank you notes, bridal shower invitations, "will you be my bridesmaid" notes, save the date notes, and even as the wedding program for a totally co-ordinated look! And you only have to buy the design once!

You get to download the design immediatly so you could be printing in minutes.

Pocket Fold Wedding Invitation

This was my pocket fold…there are 3 views in this pic (the closed invite, a zoom of the center card and open to show full inside.

I put a very thin line of glue on each of the pocket and there was room for the RSVP post card and a thin card with travel info. Depending on what you want to put in the pocket this may be enough or you can use tabs on the pocket to make it deeper. (You can see it in the drawing below)

My invitation folded to a square that was 5×5″. This meant that I cut a piece of card stock 5″ x 17.5″ I made folds in the card stock so that there were three 5″ squares and one 2.5″ side be side in that order (like the drawing).

I folded the 2.5″ piece in, glued the two edges and that was the pocket. The same thing would happen with tabs only you fold them in, apply glue to the tabs and attach to form pocket.

Pretty In Polka Dots

polka dot wedding dressI talked to a bride today who is having a black and white polka dot theme with pale pink accents. I have never heard of this before but I think if would be absolutely lovely! Here are some ideas for incorporating this theme:

A tea length wedding gown is perfect for a fun wedding like this! The photo shown here is Madison from Chrys Cross Bridal ($199) rendered to show a polka dot sash and top with pink trim. Matching bridesmaids gowns in black and white polka with a pale pink sash and top would be the perfect compliment!Â\ Or pink polka dot dresses with black sashes for a calmer, romantic feel. The men would look dashing in polka dot vest with pale pink boutinieres.

polka dot cally lily bouquetFlowers could be pale pink roses or gerbera daisies. The bridesmaids would be accented with pink ribbon, the bride’s could have polka dot ribbon. For a simple yet stunning centerpiece, place a single pale pink gerbera in a clear class vase tied with a polka dot ribbon. The bouquets shown here from Jenny’s Flowers would look stunning in a pale pink color with the polka dot ribbons.

Your table could be set with white dishes and table cloth , with a pale pink runner and black napkins or have tables alternating white and black table clothes with pink linens for a “polka dot” room. Or go all out with table settings like the one show below from Distinctive Event Rentals.

For a simple yet stylish guest book, find a scrapbook with black pages. Using pink and white cardstock, cut circles in different sizes and paste one of each color on the right side of each 2 page spread. Pick a white circle as the main circle, and then have the pink circle behind it as an accent. The accent circle could be only part way on the page, with excess trimmed off. Make each page a little different. On the left side of each two page spread, place a black and white photo of your and your fiance. Then, provide pink gell pens for guests to sign in the white circles.

Have more ideas? Those are just a few that popped into my head as I was working on that dress image. Feel free to use the comments section to share your ideas as well!
