Chic Spring Wedding Favors for under $2
Posted by Nadine Sheree in Flower Wedding Themes, Garden Wedding, Wedding Favors
Spring is officially here! Where I live, we’ve had a brutally long winter. Our last snow fall was less then two weeks ago!! But today it is sunny and warm – tank top and shorts weather – and I love it! If you’re planning a Spring or Summer wedding, there are some gorgeous wedding favor ideas out there that aren’t expensive and I thought I’d celebrate the beautiful weather by sharing some of my favorite wedding favor ideas with you.

These Love Letter Pillow Boxes are probably my favorite – the love letter flowers are gorgeous! These would really work for any season as well. If you order them without the personalized labels they are .82 – $1.13 per box depending on quantity. With personalized labels, they are $1.30 – $2.06 per box.

Birds are a common theme for Spring – and these bird house favor boxes are adorable! The first set ranges in price from .83 – $2.06 per box depending on quantity and personalization. The second set with the brown roof ranges in price from .93 – $1.50 per box.

If you like the bird-theme, this ceramic bird dish is a very chic, modern way to serve some after dinner sweets and it they are as little as $1.71 each!

Back to the idea of flowers for spring – these watering cans are perfect for a garden or backyard wedding and they range in price from $1.50 – $2.25.

Another chic idea for a garden or backyard wedding – mini picnic baskets! Just add a ribbon in the colors that suit you wedding and it’s the perfect wedding favor box for about $2 per basket!

If candles are your preferred wedding favor – these beeswax candles offer a chic twist to the traditional candle favors that is perfect for spring. The white beeswax candles are $1.33 – $1.73 each and the yellow ones are about $1.77 – $2.22. The great thing about these favors is they come boxed and ready to give – you don’t have to add candy or treats to fill them up!

23 DIY Mason Jar Ideas for Weddings
Posted by Nadine Sheree in Candy Buffets, Decorations, DIY Weddings, Food and Meals, Wedding Favors
Mason Jars have been very popular in weddings recently. They are usually very easy to find – most of us have grandmas or aunts or even mothers with a collection of mason jars in the pantry. They can be decorated to suit just about any wedding theme: add twine and burlap for a rustic wedding, vintage lace and old photos for a vintage wedding or rhinestones, ribbon and tealights for an elegant evening soiree. Mason jars can be used in many different ways – table numbers, drinking glasses, centerpieces, candy buffets, wedding favors, lighting, pew decorations and much more. Here are a few of my favorite ideas. Fair warning: this post is VERY image heavy
Enjoy!

5 Inexpensive and Stylish Personalized Wedding Favors
Posted by Sharris in Wedding Favors
Unless you’re a professional wedding planner, it’s not until you actually sit down to plan a wedding of your own that you realize how much detailing is required. After you get your wedding dress, you then have to get it altered. When you’re shopping for flowers, you have to make sure that you order them when they’re at their blooming peak. And when it comes to all of the stuff that you’ll need for your reception, while you know that favors are a tradition, after all of the money that you’ve already spent, it can be really tempting to nix that altogether.
Help is here, along with some good news because the truth of the matter is that when it comes to having inexpensive and stylish personalized wedding favors, you can actually have your cake and eat it too (yes, the pun there was totally intended)!
Candy tins. A traditional party favor that really doesn’t take a lot of money to make is candy tins. You can find a variety of tins in all sizes and colors at craft stores like Pottery Barn or Joanne’s and fill them up with some of you and your beloved’s favorite kinds of gum and candy. When it comes to the personalizing part, simply attach a thank-you tag on it featuring your John Hancock (either your two first names or introducing you both as “Mr. and Mrs.”).
Make a mix CD. You would think this idea would be outdated by now, but no one really gets tired of hearing a collection of good love songs. It can either be music from your wedding and reception or even songs that you dedicated to one another during the dating process. All you need is a box of CDs and some CD covers (you should be able to get $100 for about $25). You can even print your names and the wedding date from your own printer at home.
Goodie box. The cool thing about wedding favors these days is that there are a lot of companies that sell them online, in bulk, for a really low price. Websites like FavorIdeas.com, WeddingFavorsUnlimited.com and WeddingFavorSource.com are all places where you can purchase a variety of items for pennies on the dollar. To make a goodie box, simply purchase some favor boxes (Beau-coup.com has some elegant looking ones for a fair price) and fill them with some of your favorite things. Maybe include a couple of favors that are symbolic of your courtship, a favorite cookie and a tiny picture frame or keychain with a picture of the two of you inside of it.
Personalized calendars. One of the most user-friendly kinds of wedding favor is a personalized calendar. Either you can include different pictures for each month (including baby pics, dating pics and pics from your engagement) or it can be something more generalized like some of your favorite love quotes and poetry. Stores including Walgreens and Kinkos will print them for you or you can go onto websites like FreePrintableCalendar.net and print them off yourself for free.
Create a romance list. What better way to end a day of love than to inspire others to create their own night of romance. Another cute and inexpensive idea is to create a “25 Ways to Love Your Mate” list filled with different ways to (re)ignite the flame of the couples who came to be a part of your special day. It can be in the form of a parchment scroll, note card or even a cute little coupon book. On the cover, include a little message of inspiration from you and your spouse along with your wedding date so that people can remember who gave them their motivation to fall in love with their own beloved all over again.

Wedding Party Favors to Match Your Wedding Theme
Posted by Nadine Sheree in Wedding Favors
Themed weddings are all the rage these days. In order to maintain cohesion with the chosen theme for your wedding, you can give away wedding party favors that reflect your wedding theme. Acknowledge the elements that make a statement in your wedding ceremony and make it special; your wedding favors can go a long way in accentuating the tastefulness of your wedding and make it more memorable. Make the guests feel part of your wedding by giving away tokens of appreciation for their participation; whether they are edibles or keepsakes, they’ll make sure that your wedding shower remains etched in their memories for a long time. A few creative ideas for wedding shower party favors can include:
Themed Cookies
Wedding cookies are a great and classy way to capture the essence of your wedding. Have your wedding shower cookies made in shapes resembling various wedding related items such as wedding rings, wedding dresses, and bridal shoes or even in the shape of the flowers of your wedding bouquet.
They are a classic item which you can personalize using multi colored icing in different designs and will have huge appeal and hopefully prove to be a big hit with the guests. You can wrap them individually so that guests can easily transport some to their homes as keep sakes.
Mini Cakes
As far as edible items are concerned, mini cakes, cup cakes and brownies are the perfect wedding party favors since they are favored by almost every one. Customize your mini cakes with monograms of the wedding couple’s initials or of the wedding date. You can also have the mini cakes resemble the actual wedding cake or keep an assortment of mini cakes to cater to a wider sensibility. You can get creative with the presentation by placing a larger version of the cake as a centerpiece and decorate it with individual servings for the guests.
Small accessories
Accessories such as scarves and bracelets can be a great way of showing appreciation to your wedding guests, particularly if they comprise mostly of close friends and family. Bracelets with the names of your close friends engraved on them are a great way of showing affection and acknowledgment. Scarves are a cheaper alternative which works just as well. Your scarves can reflect the theme of your wedding if they follow the color scheme and capture the mood of your wedding. For a beach wedding you could give away tropical printed scarves in bright hues.

Our Favorite Fall Wedding Favors on a Budget
Posted by Nadine Sheree in Fall Weddings, Wedding Favors

My favorite new idea for fall wedding favors: Candy Apples for .33 cents each! I LOVE candy apples and they fit perfectly into the harvest season so I was really excited to see a post on Bronze Budget Bride about candy apples she found for only 33 cents each! I’ll let you hop over to her site for the details on that one. In the mean time, here are a few other budget friendly fall wedding favor ideas that I love!

1. New Beginnings Bookmark ($1.98 each) – while every wedding is a new beginning, I think this favor would be even more meaningful for a second wedding or a wedding that blends two families together. 2. Leaf Placecard and Favor Boxes ($25.12 for 12) – While $2 per favor, not including candy, may not seen cheap at first you have to consider that this gives you a wedding favor box, a placecard holder AND the placecard so you are combining 3 costs into one.

1. Fall Themed Wedding Cake Candle ($2.08 each) – These are adorable, and can double as part of your tablescape/decor. 2. Autumn Elegance Favor Box Kit ($24.95 for 50) – At 50 cents per box, these favor boxes are VERY budget friendly. I love the unique shape and the fact that you could customize the leaf label to use them as place cards as well if you wished.
DIY Flower Seed Wedding Favors
Posted by Nadine Sheree in DIY Weddings, Flower Wedding Themes, Garden Wedding, Green Weddings, Wedding Favors
Flower seeds make a great wedding favor – especially if you are having a floral themed wedding or an outdoor wedding. The great thing is that seeds can also be a very affordable wedding favor. You can buy a bulk pack of seeds for around $40-$50 and little bags to hold individual bunches for about $3 for 50. Martha Stewart has a few really cute ideas for packaging seeds as a wedding favor – including printable templates.
Click on each image for complete instructions and templates from Martha Stewart Weddings. I really like how the second one doubles as placecards as well.
Wedding Favor Notepads – and a sale:)
Posted by Nadine Sheree in Wedding Favors
Here’s a neat idea I found on Magnet Street Weddings this morning: Wedding Favor Notepads. My first question was this: would I actually use a notepad with someone elses wedding photo and names on it? Well – I get free notepads from local businesses with their business logo and information on them and I use them all the time. I usually have at least one in my purse at all times. So yeah, I would definitely use a notepad with a friend or loved ones picture on it. In fact, this is one of those non-edible favor ideas that could actually be quite handy. The notepads could also be used for a neat guest book idea, as part of your welcome bags for out of town guests or as a really unique Save The Date!
Oh – and did I mention that you can get 25% off? Use this link to visit Magnet Street Weddings and you will automatically receive 25% off Wedding Favor Notepads. Coupon expires January 14th, 2010.
