DIY Flower Seed Wedding Favors
Posted by Crystal in DIY Weddings, Flower Wedding Themes, Garden Wedding, Green Weddings, Wedding Favors
Flower seeds make a great wedding favor – especially if you are having a floral themed wedding or an outdoor wedding. The great thing is that seeds can also be a very affordable wedding favor. You can buy a bulk pack of seeds for around $40-$50 and little bags to hold individual bunches for about $3 for 50. Martha Stewart has a few really cute ideas for packaging seeds as a wedding favor – including printable templates.
Click on each image for complete instructions and templates from Martha Stewart Weddings. I really like how the second one doubles as placecards as well.
Wedding Favor Notepads – and a sale:)
Posted by Crystal in Wedding Favors
Here’s a neat idea I found on Magnet Street Weddings this morning: Wedding Favor Notepads. My first question was this: would I actually use a notepad with someone elses wedding photo and names on it? Well – I get free notepads from local businesses with their business logo and information on them and I use them all the time. I usually have at least one in my purse at all times. So yeah, I would definitely use a notepad with a friend or loved ones picture on it. In fact, this is one of those non-edible favor ideas that could actually be quite handy. The notepads could also be used for a neat guest book idea, as part of your welcome bags for out of town guests or as a really unique Save The Date!
Oh – and did I mention that you can get 25% off? Use this link to visit Magnet Street Weddings and you will automatically receive 25% off Wedding Favor Notepads. Coupon expires January 14th, 2010.

Cute Gifts for The Littlest Guests
Posted by Crystal in Wedding Favors

I was watching Martha Stewart today and she had Hilary from Lilly Bean Market as a guest on the show. Hilary makes adorable felt play foods for kids and she sells complete kits to create your own as well. On the show, she demonstrated how to make the cherry pie (very simple and so cute!) and while I was checking out her site, I thought “This would be so cute for a wedding!”. The felt play foods would make great gifts for a ring bearer or flower girl of course – but what about wedding favors for the kids?
If you have children on the guest list, a special wedding favor just for the kids would be a wonderful touch that they will love. These kits are very very affordable – and there are so many that you really could suit any wedding. You only need to buy one kit – and then order extra felt to make additional pieces. My favorites are the Chocolate Cake and the Christmas Cookies.
The Chocolate Cake kit sells for $5 (pattern and enough felt for one cake) – and you could purchase additional felt and customize the cake to match your own wedding colors as well. The Christmas Cookies set sells for $10 and makes 5 cookies – that’s $2 per child – perfect for a Christmas time wedding!
The Cherry Cake which was featured on Martha Stewart would be great for a summer wedding – and you can get complete instructions on Martha’s web site or you can order a kit from Lilly Bean Market for $6!

The Perfect Favor DON’T List
Posted by Crystal in Wedding Favors
I was browsing the WeddingBee boards today and found what can only be described as the perfect wedding favor DON’T list! Brides have been posting some of the worst wedding favors they have received over the years as well as a few of their favorites. Go take a look and find out what guests really think about that “cute” little knicknack you planned to give them lol.
Interesting note – most of them are saying the best favors they have received were EDIBLE. This isn’t surprising since surveys consistantly prove the guests prefer edible favors: provided they are TASTY lol.
Of course that doesn’t mean your wedding favors can’t have personality! Instead of spending money on knicknacks no one wants, pick a creative packaging for your edible favors that reflect your wedding style. Here are a few great ideas from Beau Coup.

Posted by Crystal in Green Weddings, Wedding Favors
I found these Natural Bamboo Coasters on Beau-Coup this afternoon and HAD to share! These coasters are made from natural bamboo and packaged in sets of four in lovely green boxes tied with a raffia bow and a For You tag. Here’s the best part – they are available for as little as $1.45 per set! Basically you get a complete wedding favor, ready to give with no work required for less then $1.50 per guest!
The nice thing is that coasters are a fairly practical wedding favor as well. These bamboo coasters are modern and beautiful – and are something your guests will take home and use for years to come! That in itself makes them even more eco-friendly because they are less likely to end up in the trash.
Other Eco-Friendly Wedding Favors from Beau-coup include mini bamboo plants, plantable papers and cards, eco-friendly wedding confetti and beeswax candles.
Affordable Photo Frame Favors

I absolutely love Oriental Trading! When I need craft ideas or party supplies for my kids it’s a bargain hunter’s dream and quite often I find inspiration for weddings as well. This morning, I was looking through the Christmas Decorating catalogue and came across a fabulous favor idea for a budget winter or Christmas wedding! Oriental Trading
offers a range of Photo Ornaments that you add your own picture to. They have snowflakes, snowman, gingerbread men, angels and even crocheted hearts.
You can add a copy of your engagement photo to each and use them as favors! They could also double as napkin rings: just add a length of ribbon and tie around the napkin. Or, add tags with your guests names on them and they double as escort or place cards as well! The best part – all of the ones shown below cost between 50 cents and $1.25 each!
[gallery]Cake & Favor Alternative from Martha Stewart
Posted by Crystal in Wedding Cakes, Wedding Favors
Have you seen the newest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings yet? I am TOTALLY in love with the cover shoot and it’s twin inside the magazine!

It’s so chic – and also budget friendly!!! The favor boxes can be purchased fairly affordably and are then prettied up with a little ribbon (instruction available for the bows on Martha Stewart). Piled in layers on a cake plate, topped with a little ribbon, paper and silk flowers and voila – no need for a cake at all!
Normally – you would have to pay both for a cake and for a wedding favor for your guests. By combining the two, you save on cost and this is so gorgeous and classy, no ones going to complain.
And – if you happen to be one of those brides who doesn’t really want a cake, it’s a great alternative all around.

Ice Cream Shots
Posted by Crystal in Wedding Favors
I love it when I find wedding inspiration in unexpected places! Today, I found these gorgeous little ice cream treats on one of my favorite non-wedding blogs: Woman Tribune.

These would be adorable for a summer wedding, and you could customize them to suit your theme and colors. Chocolate, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, pineapple, peaches, etc. There are dozens of great ways to customize, and because these are made in small servings, they would make an adorable and affordable after dinner treat. You can get more ideas and instructions on the original post: Irresistible Shot Glass Sundeas.
