Affordable Photo Frame Favors

Posted by Chrys on October 25th, 2008

I absolutely love Oriental Trading! When I need craft ideas or party supplies for my kids it’s a bargain hunter’s dream and quite often I find inspiration for weddings as well. This morning, I was looking through the Christmas Decorating catalogue and came across a fabulous favor idea for a budget winter or Christmas wedding! Oriental Trading offers a range of Photo Ornaments that you add your own picture to. They have snowflakes, snowman, gingerbread men, angels and even crocheted hearts.

You can add a copy of your engagement photo to each and use them as favors! They could also double as napkin rings: just add a length of ribbon and tie around the napkin. Or, add tags with your guests names on them and they double as escort or place cards as well! The best part - all of the ones shown below cost between 50 cents and $1.25 each!

Cake & Favor Alternative from Martha Stewart

Posted by Chrys on October 17th, 2008

Have you seen the newest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings yet? I am TOTALLY in love with the cover shoot and it’s twin inside the magazine!

It’s so chic - and also budget friendly!!! The favor boxes can be purchased fairly affordably and are then prettied up with a little ribbon (instruction available for the bows on Martha Stewart). Piled in layers on a cake plate, topped with a little ribbon, paper and silk flowers and voila - no need for a cake at all!

Normally - you would have to pay both for a cake and for a wedding favor for your guests. By combining the two, you save on cost and this is so gorgeous and classy, no ones going to complain.

And - if you happen to be one of those brides who doesn’t really want a cake, it’s a great alternative all around.

Ice Cream Shots

Posted by Chrys on August 6th, 2008

I love it when I find wedding inspiration in unexpected places! Today, I found these gorgeous little ice cream treats on one of my favorite non-wedding blogs: Woman Tribune.

These would be adorable for a summer wedding, and you could customize them to suit your theme and colors. Chocolate, raspberries, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, pineapple, peaches, etc. There are dozens of great ways to customize, and because these are made in small servings, they would make an adorable and affordable after dinner treat.  You can get more ideas and instructions on the original post: Irresistible Shot Glass Sundeas.

Affordable Favor Tins

Posted by Chrys on June 11th, 2008

I discovered this stunning deal on Lee Valley thanks to Miss Hummingbird. Little tin favor cases are a great way to package your wedding favors - and the prices on these are unbelievable! These ones from Lee Valley come in three sizes, and I would probably go for the middle size. That size comes in sets of 12 for $5.20 - that’s about 43 cents each! You can decorate them with a label showcasing your theme or monogram, some ribbon or just fill with a matching candy color and use as is with today’s popular silver themed weddings!

Coca Cola Favors

Posted by Chrys on March 11th, 2008

j055.jpgMy Dad, a avid Coke fan, would LOVE this idea! There is definitely something very unique about it and it could be perfect for a vintage wedding theme! Wedding bee, Ms Magnolia came up with the idea for her recent Altanta wedding.

Personally, I prefer the shape of the  special edition Coke bottles. My dad used to collect the bottles like crazy, so when my brother-in-law decided to “elope” - aka gave us one weeks notice of a pending private ceremony - we surprised them with a informal reception and I used the empty bottles as part of the centerpieces for the impromptu party. They were a huge hit. We had rectangle tables, so I placed them along the table with single long stemmed flowers in each. We sprinkled some sliver confetti in between, and added votive candles for a romantic touch.

Sea Glass Candles for a Beach Wedding Favor

Posted by Chrys on March 2nd, 2008

Looking for something unique as a wedding favor? What about a Sea Glass Candle? Each of these Soy Candles comes in a glass jar and has an authentic piece of sea glass hidden inside for guests to discover later as they are burning the candles! Tons of colors and scents are available!

Candles are made with NVSoy wax, so they burn evenly right to the bottom and clean up easily with soap and water - so the jars become keepsakes for years to come!

Tie a ribbon with a little note card around the rim with you names and date, and a sweet message, for a very unique beach wedding favor! The jars can also be handpainted with a beach motif and your names if you perfer!

If you are having a candle light evening reception, place one at each place and light it for a romantic glow. There are also larger versions that could be used as centerpieces as well!

Cute Beach Bag Favors

mini-woven-favor-bags200.jpg

I LOVE this favor idea from Beau-Coup. The little woven bags are about 67 cents each, and then you can customize them however you wish. This one, with the shell embellishment and brown and blue ribbons, would be perfect of a beach or nautical wedding.  The woven look would work well for an Easter or spring wedding, a rustic wedding, or any outdoor wedding.  For example, if you are having an Easter or spring wedding, you could use ribbons to match your colors, and fill with cadbury eggs, jelly beans, etc.
