Tiffany Blue Cake Ideas

For a Tiffany Blue wedding, you can do a white cake with blue accents, a blue cake with white accents, or just about any combination of blue with white and/or silver! If you want to go all out, a wedding cake shaped like a stack of tiffany boxes (a la Toni Braxton) is just the ticket. Here are a few ideas I found online.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s

I LOVE your site and was wondering if you could help me with something. I have always been a HUGE Audrey Hepburn fan and would like to have a Breakfast at Tifanny’s/Funny Face theme wedding(or anything Audrey!) I am planning on having a tea length gown but I am having problems finding ideas. I have thought about doing the table # with pictures of her movies.

Any suggestions would be greatly appericated!

Of course, I love a challenge like this:) Here are a few things to get your started: these are just a random selection of ideas found in message boards and blogs online:) Some of them may help get you thinking.
- Colors from Holly’s couch:Â Tiffany Blue, Pink and Lavendar, paired with Chinese lamps and aminal prints like Holly’s apartment.

- Tiffany blue is a favorite color of course

- martini glasses filled with blue jelly beans make a great favor

- Audrey Style sunglasses also make great favors.

- Instead of planning around the characters, some brides prefer to plan around the idea/feel of the movie: Posh, aristocratic, over-the-top elegance.

- Tiffany boxes with pearls dripping out the side.

- Lots of silver: candlesticks, placemarkers, table names, cake trays, etc (visit your local thrift shops and antique shops often for great finds)

- an elaborate fruit display, with fruit dip inside of a honeydew melon decorated with pearls and rhinestones (kind of a neat idea)

- have a morning wedding with a breakfast reception featuring elegant spreads of fresh fruit, croisants, mini pancakes, etc.

- have engagement photos taken in front of a Tiffany’s to use for the guest book: you could even dress in outfits inspired by the movie!

Invitation Ideas:

- a simple logo of the large hat and sunglasses w/ lips on the front and on the inside putting “You’re invited to a party Dahling” as the title

Save On Great Wedding Jewelry

I wanted to share this site with you, I purchased my husband’s ring here, and I will be buying mine here as well. The site is called Ebidz, and is owned buy a company that specializes in jewelry. Items are sold in an auction format, and usually sell at about 10% of the listed retail value.

This one below is my husband’s ring. It is valued at $249, Titanium ring, and I won it for $20! Now THAT is a good deal!!! His original wedding ring was not nearly as nice (plain and very thin) , and was $100.

Here is one I am looking for. It is listed with a retail value of about $8000, and so far seems to go for between $600-$900.

There are many different styles, and you have to check back often as they list new stuff every 5 seconds so the styles are changing. There is another one I was watching for a while, it retails around $2500 for the set, and is selling on the site around $300-$500.

Are they trust worth? Well, so far I have had great service. Their return customer rate is 90% – which is amazing! And, they are based in the US, so this is not an international company. It does take a few weeks to process and ship orders, so make sure you order ahead.

Honeymoon Idea: Fun in France

I say honeymoons, most people say Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico, Florida, etc. If you are looking for something a little more unique and exotic: how about skiing in the Charmonix Valley of France? Not a fan of the cold? How about rock climbing?

Of course, anything in France is romantic – but many brides are looking for something romantic but more fun then sitting on the beach. Skiing and rock climbing are both a great way to get physical and have a blast for the couple who is a little to adventurous for white sandy beaches!

Basically, a honeymoon can be anything you want it to do. When you start planning a honeymoon, most people start with the expected choices and go from there. I suggest that you start with your interests. If you were just going on vacation, no wedding involved, would you still want to go there? Pick a vacation destination that you would be attacked to for ANY vacation, and you are more likely to really enjoy your honeymoon.

My Sister Made A Cake!!

My sister has actually made a few wedding cakes, but she just shared this daisy creation on our other blog, were she has her own section called Heidi’s Kitchen!! I knew I had to pass it on!

Cake1.JPG

So, about a month ago I was asked to make a cake for a friends parents 25th anniversary.  It was supposed to be a replica of their wedding cake.  I was honored if not extremely nervous over being asked to tackle this.

I was given a fuzzy scanned photo of the original cake and told that the colors were yellow and cream (very hard to tell from the picture I had recieved).

Click here to read more on how she made this cake.

Wedding Annoucements

I am having a super small immediate family only at the home of my Fiancees mother and I would like to announce our wedding to other family and friends to tell them about the wedding but to let them know in a nice way that immediate family only is invited so how would I word that???

Thank you..Jeanie

In this case, your best bet is to send out Wedding Annoucements. Basically, a wedding annoucement is a formal annoucement much like the invitation, that is sent to let those who weren’t guests know that the wedding took place. These are sent out so that they will arrive either the day of the wedding, or within a few days after the wedding. What most bride’s do is get them prepared and addressed ahead of time, and then drop them in the mail 2 days before the wedding.

Why not send them earlier? Well, basically, so that it doesn’t sound like a snub. “Hey we’re getting married but you’re not going to be invited…” An annoucement, on the other hand, is considered a courtesy to those who could not be there, but should be informed:)

These can be as formal or relaxed as you wish. Here are some wording examples.

Formal:

Mr. & Mrs Brides Parents

and

Mr & Mrs Groom Parents

are pleased to announce the union of their children

The Bride Here

and

The Groom Here

The couple were united in marriage on

The Date Here

In Location Here

Fun:

He bought a ring, She said YES

Two hearts were connected as one.

On date,

In an intimate ceremony,

In the groom’s family home,

THE GROOMS NAME took

THE BRIDES NAME as his bride.

INTIMATE

WE ARE MARRIED!!! Yes, it’s true! In a small ceremony at (groomsname)’s family home, we became man & wife on DATE. We are excited to be starting our life together, and thank you for your prayers and support as we begin life together – forever.

Signed by the couple

You can also use this as a chance to share additional information such as the bride’s choosen last name, the couples new address, etc.
