When I saw the thumbnail for this black & white wedding gown, I was a little unimpressed but something told me to take a closer look and I actually really like it! It has a VERY sexy low-cut back with just the slightest train - perfect for an informal or beach wedding. The black and silver embroidered pattern really gives it a whole character all on it’s own! The exotic phalaenopsis orchid has been a very popular choice for today’s brides, even making it into the biggest weddings this year (Eva Longoria & Tony Parker, July 7, 07) and last year (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes).

It’s not hard to see why this amazing flower is so popular - it’s unique in that it works for almost anything! Where I live, Mexico is the winter destination of choice. Why? Because it is warm and the resorts are beautiful, less crowded then in summer. While just as lovely, they are also generally more affordable then other tropical locations!!

You’ve always dreamed of a wedding on the beach. You wonderful boyfriend decided to pop the question this summer and now you have a decision to make: Short engagment with an indoor wedding or long engagement so you can have your beach wedding. Seashells are great for a summer beach wedding or destination wedding. While logically I know that there are different types of shells, i never realized how many shapes and sizes are available! From unique to elegant, there is probably a shell out there that will match your style.

Seashells can be used in many areas of the wedding: invitations, place cards, table markers, wedding cake, bouquets, pew bows, guestbook, centerpeices, favors, and more. Larger Seashells, like the second one shown below, can actually be used as a bouquet holder for the bride, bridesmaids and/or centerpieces as well!

If you are really crafty, the right Seashells shape can be filled with candle wax and a wick for a custom, one of a kind candle to use in your decor or as a favor for your guests!

Starfish make a great theme or accent peice for any beach themed wedding. Here are some neat ideas for incorporating starfish into your decor.

1. Small starfish can be used to decorate each wedding invitation, program, placemarker or table marker.

2. Place Starfish on your wedding cake, in your centerpeice, in your flowers, or in garlands used for decor.

3. A large starfish can also make a great wedding favor. Tie each one with a ribbon and a personalized tag.

4. Create a beach wedding canopy by hanging Starfish, shells, and other sea “life” from the ceiling on fish wire, raffia or ribbon. This is a great way to bring a little beach into an indoor or tent reception as well!
